The head of the Committee on European Affairs, Deputy Ana Birchall, on Thursday had a meeting at the Parliament Palace with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Romania, Ramiro Fernandez Bachiller, during which she evoked the excellent relations existing between the two countries and voiced "her appreciation for the high level of bilateral relations and for the positive approach on behalf of Spain related to their further strengthening."
Moreover, she voiced the Romanian state's appreciation for Spain's support for Romania's EU and Schengen accession processes.
"We believe that it would be good to reiterate this support in the current context, considering our strategic relations and the fact that Romania already met all the needed criteria for its Schengen accession as early as 2010," Ana Birchall stated, according to a release to AGERPRES.
