Romania and Bulgaria could offer joint packages to third countries tourists, the Romanian Ambassador in Sofia, Anton Păcureţu said, according to Agerpress.

The diplomat visited Wednesday the Bulgarian port of Varna where he met with Mayor Ivan Portnih. Păcureţu said that Romanians are the largest group of foreign tourists on the Bulgarian seaside and that this trend will continue.

Last year, Bulgaria was visited by about one million Romanians while Romania was visited by approximately 400,000 Bulgarians.

The trade volume amounted to 3.5 billion Euros, while only 5-6 years ago it was 10 times smaller, the diplomat said.

In his opinion, there is a great interest for bilateral exchanges in the business environment and at least 10,000 jobs are created on both sides of the Danube due to these shifts.

Soon Varna, the sea capital of Bulgaria, will fraternize with Constants harbor, the two officials announced.
