Romania may not enter into a new agreement with the International Monetary Fund this year. National Bank Governor Mugur Isarescu statedthat the "positive" conclusion of the current International Monetary Fund Agreementin the first half of the year would representa sufficient space for collaboration for the entire year.The current agreement was signedinthe spring of2011, at the same time withthe closing of theagreement started in 2009 and will be finalized in March-April of this year.
An IMF mission led by Erik the Vrijer, will be in Bucharest from January 15 to 29 for the 7th and 8th SBA assessment, the main topics of discussionbeing the economic outlook, the 2013 budget, thestructural reforms andthe monetary policy.
