Romania has gone down one position, being ranked 32nd in a quarterly top  of the most attractive countries  for investments in renewable energy developed by the EY consultancy company, which also notes  that the local market activity has slowed down over the  recent months, Mediafax reports.

"Despite the volume slowdown in the renewable energy investments in Romania, new agreements were concluded. The  Russian company Lukoil-Ecoenergo and the Italian company ERG Renew signed a financing agreement for the wind farm  in Topolog-Dorobanţu, a project valued at 123.8 million of euro, while  the German energy producer STEAG has obtained a credit for the Crucea Nord wind farm , whose cost is estimated at $ 200 million euro ",  the September edition of the EY top shows.

The EY report evaluates 40 countries based on the attractiveness of investments  in renewable energy.

In the region, Turkey and Poland came before Romania, occupying positions 19 and 29, while Greece is ranked  33rd and Ukraine 40th.

Globally, China surpassed the United States based on the attractiveness of the sector of renewable energy, while the next top three, Germany, Japan and Canada, have held on their previous positions. Sixth climbed India, who overpassed  the UK, currently ranked seventh.

"The Chinese government is channeling its efforts in the fight against pollution on the  renewable energy segment, providing new opportunities for foreign investors," the report said.
