Romania must pay today more than 164.4 million Euros to the International Monetary Fund, the amount of the loan repayments under the standby agreement contracted in 2009.

Romania must make this year, payments totaling over 1.16 billion Euros to the International Monetary Fund, the European Union and the World Bank. In the first seven months of the year, out of the total amount owed 550.6 million Euros were paid.

After the payment remitted today, in September, the country has to make three other payments totaling EUR 157 million: 8 million to IBRD, 30 million to the European Union and another 122 million Euros to the IMF.

 By the end of the year, our country will have to pay another 292 million in four installments. The last one worth 122.3 million Euros, will be paid on December 23.

Refunds are made in the account of our country’s financial package for international creditors - the IMF, European Union and World Bank in 2009. The loan has a total amount of 19.95 billion Euros.
