The Governor of the National Bank stated that bank employees are unprofessional and amateurs. Isarescu also believed that bankers did not know the basics of their profession.
"The fact that banks are unable to raise credit, in my opinion, derives mainly from the fact that their branches are not well trained to give other credits than consumer loans and mortgages."
“They should quickly shift their business plan towards enterprises, but this is not easy to do because they need trained people" the Governor said.
“And , between you and me, during the booming period they only hired vendors. Right? Good looking young people who spoke foreign languages and having some knowledge about how to attract the buyer to take the credit sooner and under certain conditions. But, afterwards, they looked at the balance sheet, that was a more difficult task and the risks were bigger” the central bank governor stated.
