National currency appreciated   at the first interbank meeting this year, and the National Bank of Romania (NBR) issued  an exchange rate of 4.4153 RON / euro, with  1.34  pennies lower than the last reference announced in 2012, representing the lowest level since May last year.

NBR published  on the last day of 2012 a reference rate of 4.4287 RON / euro, the Romanian currency registering a decline of 2.5% from last the  quotation in  2011, of 4.3197 RON  / euro.

The Romanian currency decreased  compared to  the U.S. dollar. The NBR published a rating of  3.3683 RON / dollar by 1.08 penies higher than the one on  December 31.
