The National Bank of Romania  quoted the Euro for  4.4086 lei today, the lowest value of the euro over  the last nine months. A lower rating  was registered in April last year.. The Wednesday rating is by 0,2 pennies less than the one announced in the previous session, of 4,4106 lei to an euro. A lower official rating than the one published Wednesday, of 4,3970 lei to an euro, was published by the central bank on April 30.

Dealers do not rule out the possibility that the central bank be the main  buyer  of euros to readjust  the foreign exchange  reserve, Mediafax reports.

For the American dollar, the central bank announced an increased  exchange rate by 1,2 pennies, from  3 ,3608 lei to a dollar to 3,3728 lei to a dollar.


Reference rate for the Swiss franc decreased  slightly, from 3.6474 euro  to a franc at 3.6465 lei  to a  franc. In the previous session, the benchmark rate for the Romanian currency  compared to the Swiss franc was at its  minimum on   April 27, 2012, when the franc was quoted at 3.6416 lei.
