The Government consented to increase diesel excise starting January 1, 2013

Excise duty on diesel will increase by 4.5% from January 1, 2013, to 391 euros / ton, respectively 330, 395 euros per  1.000 liters to 374 euro / ton, respectively   316.03 euros per 1 000 liters , according to a draft ordinance adopted Wednesday by the Government Agerpres informs.

The project aims to achieve the minimum level of excise duty on diesel from January 1, 2013, according to the schedule assumed in the position paper adopted within the EU accession negotiations framework.

This measure ensures Romania's compliance with the   commitments assumed  as a member state of the European Union and  thus avoids the possibility of opening a new infringement procedures against our country.
