The fines, legal costs and precautionary measures imposed by foreign judgments onto Romanian citizens will no longer be automatically recognized in Romania, the High Court of Cassation and Justice ruled, according to profit.ro.
The High Court of Cassation and Justice has established that pecuniary penalties, guarantee measures, legal costs and any provision of foreign judgments (except on conviction to imprisonment) cannot be enforced by the Romanian judicial authorities.
Judges of the supreme court thus upheld an appeal on points of law (RIL) of the Prosecutor General.
