The feature Aferim!, directed by Radu Jude, was designated the great winner of the IndieLisboa International Film Festival, Agerpres reports.
According to a release sent to Agerpres on Monday, the event that took place in Portugal's capital city from April 23 through May 3, ended on Sunday night with the gala ceremony wherein Aferim! was awarded the trophy of the city of Lisbon — the great Prize for feature film, and the Distribution Award given by the cinema bloggers' jury.
One of the biggest Romanian cinema projects of the past years, the feature film Aferim!, directed by Radu Jude, won at mid-February the Silver Bear for the best director at the Berlin International Film Festival and it is until now the most successful Romanian movie of the year, with over 57,000 cinema-goers.
