Tomorrow's event will be accompanied by a reception hosted by the Bucharest City Mayor, to be attended by important people of the Romanian society. For the flag’s manufacturing, a small army of people from the flags factory worked intensively to make everything perfect.
It wasn’t easy dealing with a flag weighing nearly 800 kilos but the employees from the Flags factory have managed to put it together. The flag measures 100 meters wide and 140 meters long, it took three days and three nights of very hard work to make it.
A sea of blue fabric covered the other days the Aerodrome of Clinceni. The flag was displayed in order to have it measured and to identify exactly where the stars, the symbol of the European Union, will be placed!.
In order for the 12 stars to be fitted in right in their place it took a lot of engineering and many calculations. Pure mathematics combined with the talent of the seamstresses from the flags factory.
Currently, the final adjustments for Europe’s Day are being made. The flag of the European Union is set in the courtyard of the House of Parliament. Tomorrow’s event will be accompanied by a reception given by the City Town hall, to be attended by important personalities of the Romanian society.
The European union’s huge flag is the first stage of a greater present that Antena 3 has in store for Romanians: a place in the Guinness Book for having made the largest national flag in the world.
