The meeting was scheduled to be held at the peak of a scandal outbroken, after the calumniating statements made by the head of the Council, Laura Georgescu, against Antenna 3.
Narcisa Iorga and Valentin Jucan, CNA council members, have asked Laura Georgescu to resign, after reading in public a petition saying that Antenna 3 had allegedly "brainwashed people".
On December 10, the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) rejected by vote Antenna 2 request to be transformed into Antenna Stars.
On the same day, during Direct Access show on Antenna 1, Laura Georgescu, CNA, chairman red out a message saying she had wished that Antenna 2 would not start doing what Antenna 3 is doing, "brainwashing people".
The head of the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) attempted on December 13, to justify her decisions and the last week statements, waving around dozens of complaints received at CNA. She explained, however, that the institution she leads has a protocol of cooperation with the Association of Professional Broadcasters whereby "we are obliged to covey the referrals to the broadcasters."
