Iurie Darie was buried today, around 16.00 hours at the Holy Friday cemetery in the Capital city. He was buried with military honors in the presence of family, colleagues and friends, actors and directors such as Sergiu Nicolaescu, Florin Piersic and Sebastian Papaiani, Mediafax reports.
The actor died Friday night aged 83, after a long illness.
The coffin was brought Saturday at the Comedy Theatre Studio in Bucharest, where those who loved him were able to present him with their final tribute.
Among those attending Iurie Darie ‘s Saturday and Sunday wake there were Emilia Popescu, Monica Ghiuţă, Marius Florea Vizante, Marius Marinescu, Gelu Colceag, Marian Râlea, Ecaterina Andronescu, Marin Moraru, Daniela Nane, George Ivaşcu, Alice Barb, George Mihăiţă and Magda Catone.
Among the politicians who have submitted their funeral tribute wreath were president Traian Băsescu premier Victor Ponta, Bucharest city mayor , Sorin Oprescu ad senator Marius Marinescu.
The funeral procession took the coffin to the cemetery Holy Friday at around 13.45, applauded by those present.
Film director Sergiu Nicolaescu uttered his farewell from the actor: "farewell my good old fried, do not worry, you are not alone. May God watch over you!’.
The funeral was attended by Mihai Constantin, Rodica Popescu Bitănescu, Ion Dichiseanu, Geo Saizescu, Daniela Nane, George Ivaşcu, Alice Barb and Magda Catone.
