The first concert of Andrea Bocelli in Romania will be an outstanding performance. The Covent Graden’s first soloist, Romanian Angela Gheorghiu, gets on the same stage with the Italian artist at his invitation.
It is not the first time the two have worked together. The soprano and Adrea Bocelli are old friends.
‘It is a little more than an invitation it is an act of friendship. Actually, he asked me if it were possible that I would join him in my country. I joined him in a concert at the Coliseum, too. ’
The two share an old friendship.
‘Our first encounter was very interesting. It was for that concert in Petra, with several of my colleagues, with Jose Carerras, with Placido Domingo and very many Italian artists, honoring Luciano. I believe I was back then the only intruder, somehow. And we have been very close since’, the Romanian soprano stated.
Together with Angela Gheorghiu, Andreea Bocelli will perform in Bucharest the song that has brought him the greatest success - Con te partiro/ Time to say goodbye.
Cezar Ouatu will go on stage along Andreea Bocelli and Angela Gheorghiu.
Andrea Bocelli’s fans are being expected Saturday evening at Romoexpo, the concert starts at 20.00.
