Former president Traian Băsescu admitted that he went to Grivco and proposed professor Dan Voiculescu to become his political partner.
Asked in an interview for adevărul.ro about his visit to GRIVCO in 2004 and his involvement in accomplishing the parliament majority as president , Băsescu spoke about the famous negotiations he had with Dan Voiculescu.
"If I remember correctly, I’ve had a meeting with Voiculescu at Grivco, under the circumstances where I was the elected president. I asked him to bring into the alliance the Conservative group. He turned me down", Băsescu added.
