Asked whether he would resign from the PMP, Baconschi stated that he had not considered that year and that momentarily he would take a break.
"Everything was quite clear, because, basically, except for one or two positions in the organizational chart of the PMP leadership, there was one person assigned per each position, meaning the team was already outlined by the fact that every candidate agreed by Mrs. Elena Udrea was running alone, he had had no opponents, so there weren’t any concerns from that point of view. (...) I experienced a feeling of deja vu, because just like in PDL the intellectuals were, as it were, put in the display cabinet and then evacuated, a similar phenomenon happened in the PMP development, " former Foreign Minister, Teodor Baconschi said, according to rfi.ro.
Marian Preda’s resignation comes two days after Elena Udrea won the leadership of the PMP.
Baconschi, ravished by Udrea’s charms
Not long ago Baconschi was one of the most ardent admirers of Elena Udrea and he even praised her charms in public. Here's what the same Baconschi used to say about Elena Udrea.
“Elena, I am very happy to be working with you. One must make monumental efforts not to fall under your charms, as a colleague. You are smart, you're beautiful, you're tough, you proved endurance in the rather disgusting environment of Romanian politics and you are not bothered by having next to you valuable people which means that you can make together with everyone valuable teams that the PDL probably needs, " the same Baconschi who now accuses Udrea of marginalizing the intellectuals in the PMP said back in 2012.
