"From the political point of view, our alliance will benefit, any alliance being formed and having Traian Basescu in it will not get more than 6%, this is the score that Traian Băsescu obtained with his party. As such, I do not think that is a hindrance or a problem for us", Constantine said, when asked about the ongoing discussions between the PDL and the PNL to form an alliance.
The PC leader also added that he could not help notice the “embarrassing situation” that Crin Antonescu would be in who “until the other day” was against Traian Băsescu and the PDL.
“I cannot help noticing the embarrassing situation that Crin Antonescu is in, until the other day he was against Traian Băsescu, against the PDL, justified, and today I see him with the tremendous desire to ally with him and to continue the disastrous governing that the PDL has had under the protection of Traian Băsescu. It is an absolutely embarrassing situation from him”, Constatin said.
He added that he did not believe that they will come to that, because the Liberals across the country to not want to ally with Traian Băsescu.
"But I do not believe it will come to that, because I do know the Liberals very well, the Liberals across the country, those who make up the leadership, beside Crin Antonescu, they do not want to ally with the one they have been attacking so much, with Traian Băsescu, and I believe that the Liberals will react to that", Constantin pointed out.
