A first indication of this is the declaration made by Liberal deputy Sorin Frunzăverde "Romanian delegation presidents are Valean (wife of Crin Antonescu - no) and Stolojan, they are leaders of a delegation made up of 15 members representing the Romanian delegation in the EPP. Marian Jean is Vice President of the EPP group, of the entire EPP group, and we hope that Adina Valean should be vice president of the European Parliament ".
Meanwhile, the official webpage of the European People’s Party, in the section dedicated to members from Romania, there appear Theodor Stolojan, Monica Macovei, Traian Ungureanu, Marian Marinescu, Daniel Buda, Iuliu Winkler, but also Cristian Preda and Siegfried Mureşan, both from the PMP.
Moreover, amongst the PPE leaders , Traian Băsescu is listed on a very honorable position.
For now, PNL is not registered on the list of new EPP members, although the Liberals have publicly expressed their desire to join this group. It must be said, however, that no one can be received into a PE group without the prior consent of all who are part of that group.
Moreover, Antonescu's wife, Adina Valean participated in a TV show along Monica Macovei where the latter acknowledged that the Romanian delegation in the EPP will be composed of 15 MEPs from the PDL, PNL, UDMR and PMP.
