"Such impudence! What a lack of dignity and honor from the one who has hidden from the will of the nation under the Cotroceni seat. It would be outrageous that Basescu should not account for all the deception and the evil he incurred this country. The protesters were right to shout: "Get out, you ordinary bitch!" Dan Voiculescu writes.
In February 2007, the PSD notified the Constitutional Court on the initiation of suspension, and a few days later the Parliament approved the establishment of a commission of inquiry for the President’s impeachment headed by Dan Voiculescu. Dan Voiculescu announced that the committee’s report determined that President Basescu "violated the Constitution and is involved in criminal actions."
The Romanian Parliament endorsed the suspension request. 322 deputies and senators considered that the president violated the fundamental law. On May 19, 2007, a referendum was held which was attended by more than 8 million Romanians.
