According to sources, the PNL had signed their adhesion to the European People’s Party since Friday already and yesterday they were trying to give the impression that this was a hypothesis being discussed still.
There are facts coming from PNL sources certifying that the Liberals are already members of the EPP.
From a legal point of view, the documents have already been sealed, and now there is the public announcement to be made at the EPP meeting in the beginning of July.
Therefore, the PNL is a rightful member of EPP, next there is only the public validation which will be made right after the extraordinary congress of the resignations from the liberal party.
Monday, PNL president, Crin Antonescu, announced that he would propose the PNL MEPs to join the EPP in the European Parliament.
The Liberal leader said that the PNL’s option is very clear for the right wing, for a president of the European Commission from the EPP, adding that there is a doctrinal compatibility of strategic policy orientation between the EPP and the Liberals, a party of the right wing. PNL used to be an ALDE member.
Journalist Radu Tudor qualified the PNL’s actions as one of the biggest frauds committed against the Romanians.
“It is, unfortunately, one of the biggest frauds that Crin Antonescu and the PNL are committing against the Romanian voters and that is to strike a deal with his opponent before the elections. (...) It is a repulsive thing, devoid of any character”, Radu Tudor commented Tuesday on Antena 3.
Adrian Ursu: The PNL electorate has been seriously lied to
Journalist Adrian Ursu says that the PNL electorate has been seriously lied to and mockery is being practiced at large scale.
"The Liberal electorate has been seriously lied to. (...) In Romania mockery is being practiced at large scale," Adrian Ursu said, after finding out that the PNL moved from ALDE to the EPP and signed the adhesion papers before Sunday's elections.
