The Liberal Democrats are confident that the nomination of Cristian Diaconescu for the presidential race is only for show, because after all Elena Udrea will be the one to run for country president.
Theodor Baconschi says he is disappointed with the leadership of the party he belongs to. Baconschi believes that the intellectuals in the PMP were put on display and then evacuated just as in the PDL.
Elena Udrea on the other hand asks Baconschi not to be upset with having lost the vice-president position.
Former party colleagues also attack Elena Udrea. Catalin Predoiu said that, in fact, Cristian Diaconescu was nominated only for show as the candidate in the presidential elections on behalf of the PMP and that eventually, Elena Udrea will be the one running for president.
Elena Udrea argues that Cristian Diaconescu as not the " rabbit- candidate " of anyone and that he stands a very good chance to make it into the second round of the presidential elections. Although the PNL and the PDL announced they will have a single candidate, separate from the PMP, Elena Udrea is still waiting to merge with the Liberals and Liberal Democrats.
