UDMR  leader Kelemen Hunor said that the  Union would "most certainly" have its own  presidential candidate, but the formal decision would be taken over the next period, at the latest in August, adding that personally he did not foster any ambition in this respect, but would take into  account his  colleagues opinions.

"We have discussed and will talk it over (...), the majority of colleagues say that we must have a candidate, we  started in 1996 and every time there were presidential elections – in  1996, 2000, 2004, 2009 – we had a candidate. There are many more reasons to have  a candidate than not to have  a candidate in the first round, but we will not take a  formal decision this month, but no later than July or August. Who will run is another question, but the two issues are not related. We will most  likely  have a candidate who will that candidate be, we will  see", Kelemen Hunor said quoted by Mediafax.
