Liberals no longer recognize Prime Minister Victor Ponta's legitimacy, in context they will boycott actions involving him, except for the censure motion and the debate of the National Anti-corruption Directorate's (DNA) request in his case.

"PNL [the National Liberal Party] no longer recognizes Victor Ponta's legitimacy as prime minister, except for the censure motion and the discussion in the Chamber on the approval to the DNA request, we shall refuse to participate in any political action involving Victor Ponta," PNL co-chair Alina Gorghiu told a press conference.

She showed that on Monday and Tuesday the Liberals will talk about boycotting any actions Victor Ponta participates in.

"I wonder if he will have the audacity to come to Cotroceni or to the CSAT [the Supreme Council for National Defence] meeting on Tuesday," said Gorghiu.

She suggests Ponta not to participate on Monday in the consultations President Iohannis is holding with the leaders of parliament parties and formations.

The National Anti-corruption Directorate on Friday announced that prosecutors decided to open a criminal investigation against Prime Minister Victor Ponta on forgery, continued complicity to tax evasion and money laundering in a corruption case involving the legal counselling for the energy companies of Turceni and Rovinari, allegedly perpetrated by Victor Ponta when he was a lawyer.

The legal committee of the Deputies' Chamber will convene on Monday to discuss the letter of the prosecutor general referring to the request to start a criminal investigation against Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
