MFA believes that the threat of using a Russian strategic bomber that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin made is , is "a very serious' one, calling on Moscow authorities to state publicly whether the statements quoted represent an official position against Romania.

Ukraine again does not allow my passage. Next time I will fly aboard a (strategic bomber type) Tu-160 ". The Foreign Ministry believes that the threat of the use of a Russian strategic bomber by a Russian deputy prime minister, is a very serious statement in the current regional context, the Russian Federation violated the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine's territorial and the pro-Russian separatist forces seriously violate public order in the neighboring state, " the press release MFA sent out Saturday reads.

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the authorities in Moscow, on the Russian Foreign Ministry, "to state publicly whether Deputy Prime Minister Rogozin ‘s quotes statements represent the official position of the Russian government towards Romania as a member of the EU and NATO."

"At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that Romania unequivocally supports and fully respects the sanctions regime imposed by the European Union in relation to actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine," the press release reads.

MFA states that, "under Article 1 (1) of Decision 2014/145/PESC concerning restrictive measures in relation to actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, the sovereignty ", Member States shall take the necessary measures to prevent the entry into or transit through their territory by individuals responsible for actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and the individuals associated with them, as listed in Annex "(sn), Annex containing the list of sanctioned individuals."

" Russian government Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin is found in the Annex containing the list of the sanctioned persons," the release said.

"At the request of the United States, Romania closed its airspace to my plane. Ukraine does not allow me to pass”, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister in a message posted Saturday on Twitter from Transnistria, quoted by Itar-Tass.

Rogozin was attempting to go back to Transnistria - where he attended Friday the Victory Day ceremonies - in Moscow.
