Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced on Monday that he will hold his first institutional meeting of the year with Deputy Prime Minister for National Security Gabriel Oprea, after having spent the last few days with the kids, Agerpres reports.
"After a few perfect days with the kids — back to work! First meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Oprea. Thanks to those who worked for us all during the holidays!", said the Prime Minister on Twitter.
Victor Ponta also thanked, in a Facebook post, the Internal Affairs Ministry (MAI) employees that were on duty during the winter holidays.
"Over 25,000 policemen, gendarmes, firemen and other MAI employees worked during the winter holidays to ensure the peace and safety of all Romanian citizens. Furthermore, crews of the ISU [Emergency Situations Inspectorate] had over 10,000 missions and saved over 900 persons in critical situations. I thank you all very much for the efforts made in these days (of holiday for most Romanians)! You did your duty well and I trust that in the winter period that is to follow and whenever is necessary, you will be prepared to intervene and help", the Prime Minister wrote.
