Prime Minister proposed to designate a non-political institutions to organize the vote and called on the parties to put their rivalries aside and adopt the necessary legislative framework for the introduction of the electronic voting.
Victor Ponta asked the Parliament to introduce electronic voting in the elections law or mail voting so that all Romanians in the diaspora should vote in the next elections.
The prime minister said that an institution must be designated to handle the organization of the vote in the country and abroad.
Liberal leader Ludovic Orban, attacked Prime Minister Victor Ponta hard whom he asked to resign because citizens in the Diaspora could not vote.
The new head of the Romanian diplomacy, Bogdan Aurescu, said that the Foreign Ministry’s image was affected by the scandal of the diaspora voting and the Prosecutor's investigation would establish clearly who held the responsibility for the incidents of 2 and 16 November.
After the first round of the presidential elections, the Prosecutor General launched a criminal investigation in rem, for violating the right to vote in the elections due to problems in the Diaspora.
