"Today, on the same day of Justice celebration Day, marks two years since Traian Băsescu was suspended from the office of president by the Romanian Parliament’s vote for a second time. July 6, 2012 was one of the moments in which we demonstrated together with Crin Antonescu and Daniel Constantin, that USL was one of the most powerful democratic political projects in the history of the country. I regret that Crin did not want to continue this project though! " Victor Ponta wrote Sunday on his Facebook account.
The prime minister adds that he will always argue the " 7.4 million Romanians who voted for Basescu's dismissal were right in their decision to sanction the president’s abuses."
"I respected the decision of the Constitutional Court of Romania thinking of the future, even though I had a very hard time accepting the idea that the Romanians vote was ignored," Victor Ponta adds.
The Facebook posting concludes with a post scriptum reading: “There are only 23 weeks left until Traian Băsescu leaves from Cotroceni! ”
