Victor Ponta compares Traian Basescu to the Bercea family. Basescu filmed and released the record of the meeting held at Cotroceni, just as the relatives of Bercea recorded Mircea Basescu.
Ponta argues that the whole discussion about the reduction of CAS was only a set up and that Traian Băsescu knew from the very beginning that he would release it to the media in an attempt to partly restore his severely damaged public imaged.
The statement was made during the Q&A show of Alessandra Stoicescu.
Moreover, the Prime Minister challenges the president to release for the public the recordings of all the meetings had, including those with the Ungureanu and Boc Governments.
"I do not mind at all that the footage has been released. In the end the president’s supporters were happy: "look how cunning Băsescu is ", "see what he has done to them". This remains an issue of transparency, of principle. You cannot leave something to serve somebody’s whims: "this one I’ll release". I believe he should release all the recordings, from all the consultations with the government I am running, with the Ungureanu government and the Boc Government. I honestly would want, related to the nation’s history part, I would love to see the recordings of the discussion president Băsescu had with prime minister Boc back then when the pensions and salaries were cut ", PM Victor Ponta stated.
