The Cotroceni Palace is also hosting a very small zoo. The President of all Romanians is a cat lover and the state budget includes a special fund for them. Only for presidential cats, that is.

Two tabby cats and one black cat are gracefully walking up and down the alleys in the Cotroceni Palace yard. These aristocats live the good life indeed, moreover as presidential cats are given a special treat: all the food they want and all the attention they need from Presidential Administration employees.

This is the first year when a special state budget fund was earmarked for their special dietary needs. The former head of state would feed them table scraps...

Klaus Iohannis, however, has a great love for cats, same as David Cameron. Larry, the British Prime Minister's tomcat whose initial job was to catch 10 Downing Street mice, has become famous all over the world.

The presidential cats of the Romanian head of state are peacefully sharing both the Cotroceni park and their state budget allowance with a few fish whose food costs only five thousand lei per year.
