Berceanu says about his former friend and colleague Traian Basescu that he is alone and that he is not able to work in a team. In an interview for ziare.com, Berceanu is critical of Băsecu's decision to break up the PDL and then speak about a unification of the right around Elena Udrea who lacks quite a few years of experience from her resume.
The former PDL leader says that the destruction of the PMP started immediately on the night of the European elections and now Basescu's party would not get a score above 1.5%.
Considered one of the former comrades of the president, Radu Berceanu explained how the PDL leaders used to see Traian Basescu as an idol after winning the first term as president.
"Mr. Basescu had many moments filled with emotion, which caused widespread excitement. I remember after he became president in 2004, there was a meeting organized by Blaga at the Palace Hall, when he said " do not keep my seat warm for me, now I'm president, I'll go". Blaga cried his heart out. I was crying, Videanu was crying the whole scene was crying, half of the press representatives were crying. Then that was that" Radu Berceanu said.
