ALDE MEP Renate Weber is of the opinion that the withdrawal of Victor Ponta from the PSD leadership is a "swift kick" against the party, which could even lead to its breaking up.
"It's a swift kick against the PSD (Ponta's withdrawal from the party’s leadership ) I do not know if deadly, but it's sudden. After this time, the PSD will not be the one with which the people had gotten used to in Romania. (. ..) it is a time that could disrupt the PSD ", said ALDE MEP Renate Weber, on Sunday, during the Meeting Point show on Antena 3.
Also, Weber says she does not understand the "logic" of Ponta to leave the party’s leadership, but not that of the Government, given that the reason he provided was his prosecution by the DNA.
As regards the career of Victor Ponta, the MEP said that maybe he was too early elected the leader of PSD.
Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced on Sunday on his Facebook page that he withdraws from the leadership of PSD.
