It is an honor to be standing here today in front of the European Parliament. The Union went through many challenges that tested our unity and cohesion. It was a decade in which the Union had to constantly adapt and learn. It was searching for a common vision.
The positive outcome of this period is that there is an element that unites us: the european identity. These common values have to be constantly rediscovered, appreciated and aknowledged, as these values are formed on their ability to live on.
We are going through a chapter of consolidation of the european project, in which we need a new vision. I pledge for cohesion, unity and solidaity.' , declared Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.
