The adoptions topic is a sensitive one for the ACL candidate for president of Romania, Klaus Iohannis. The mayor of Sibiu denied the allegations against him, but did not provide any evidence that the allegations were false.
The topic was debated on the "Subjective" show, produced by Razvan Dumitrescu Monday on Antena 3.
Cristian Buşoi, the ACL representative explained that Mr. Iohannis would come soon, we did not know when, with the evidence that the allegations against him were false.
"The adoption itself happened many years ago, he inquired about it recently. The most despicable part of the PSD campaign was that when they said that the children were sold for organs, that Mr. Iohannis was complicit. And Mr. Iohannis will come up with evidence that it was a big lie. "
A representative of the Liberal Reform Party, Sorin Iliesiu explained that Mr. Iohannis had problems in the past, in this context, refusing to give explanations on this sensitive subject.
"What is the evidence? Those children, who then were seven years, so they were aware of what was happening in their lives, now are 29, 27 years. Where is the evidence that these people are better now? Why Mr. Iohannis, in 2004 when he was summoned to come to give explanations, did not want to come? "
Sociologist Mirel Palade said that Mr. Iohannis, as possible president, would be a continuation of the system established by Traian Băsescu.
"Mr. Iohannis boast that he is a man of principles. Do you realize that we might have for president of Romania a man who recognizes that he gave children abroad from Romania and that these are the principles by which he is guided? He is the very continuator of Traian Basescu’s system, who said "Get out of the country!" We are pleased that the children are okay. To have as President of Romania someone who has basic principles to give the body of the country away , that's the idea . "
