Consistent premiums and an easy going life in the General City Hall. This was the secret recipe applied by the former mayor Traian Băsescu on his former subordinates who supported him in making shady property restitutions.
Shortly after he restituted the Spartac sports spa, Băsescu bought his subordinates silence with huge premiums and incentives.
Some of those involved in property restitutions, chosen by mayor Băsescu, were given presents during his last days in the office as mayor. They received retroactive salary incentives amounting to 50% from the basic salary.
In other words, Băsescu’s friends received a few extra salaries.
