As leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, Călin Popescu Tăriceanu called on all parliamentary parties not to give their investiture vote to the Cioloş government. Tăriceanu also called on the independent personalities invited by the Prime Minister Designate to form the new Cabinet not to accept to become, we quote, "instruments of an undemocratic process."
According to Tăriceanu, we are witnessing an undemocratic change of regime, brought about by an artificial crisis. "Swearing a presidential government into office will mark the transition to a political regime other than representative democracy, a political regime that exceeds Constitutional bounds and endangers the rights and freedoms of citizens, the democratic values and the rule of law."
