According to the Permanent Electoral Authority, nearly 18.5 million Romanians are expected to vote in the elections on November 2. In order to gain sympathy and become president, 14 candidates entered the race.
Victor Ponta comes before the Romanians supported by the PSD, PC and the UNPR and Iohannis is the candidate on behalf of the Liberal Christian Alliance. Moreover, the two candidates are most likely to enter the second round of presidential elections, according to opinion polls.
Also competing for the Romanians votes are Elena Udrea from the PMP, Kelemen Hunor, supported by UDMR, Dan Diaconescu from the People's Party and Corneliu Vadim Tudor from the Greater Romania Party.
Also representing a political party are candidates Constantin Rotaru, William Brînză, Mirel Mircea Amariţei and Szilagyi Zsolt. Next to the ten political leaders, four independent candidates entered the race: Teodor Meleşcanu, Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu, Monica Macovei and Gheorghe Funar.
The election campaign ends Saturday, November 1, at 7:00. During this period, candidates can promote themselves through rallies, election posters and the press.
