More than half of the Romanians are concerned about the presidential elections. Specifically 63 percent, as shown in a survey conducted by Sociopol. 57 percent of the respondents say they would show up to vote. Victor Ponta leads in the polls with 42 percent of the electorate options. He is followed by Klauss Iohannis, with 26 percent and Călin Popescu Tariceanu with 9 percent. The runoff will be a confrontation between Ponta and Iohannis, and the Prime is likely to get 50 percent of the votes.
If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, the Romanians would cast 42 percent of their votes to elect the UNPR + PSD + PC alliance. The Liberals would be in the second place, far away, and the third place would go to the newly established party of Călin Popescu Tariceanu.
The survey also shows that most Romanians trust the firefighters, the military, the church and the gendarmerie, while political parties are ranked last.
In terms of confidence in the public figures most votes go to Raed Arafat. King Michael I is rated second, Isarescu third and Patriarch Daniel fourth.
71 percent of respondents are dissatisfied with the work of Traian Basescu in his second term as president. In contrast, 49 percent of them are satisfied with the work of Prime Minister Victor Ponta.

The Sociopol survey was conducted between 20 and 23 September this year, on a representative sample of 1,008 people and has a margin error of 3.2 percent.
