Traian Băsescu launches a new attack against Prime Minister Victor Ponta. In a Facebook posting, the former president asks again the PM’s resignation, although he defends him before prosecutors.
"Ponta, please betray me!!!!! I remain consistent with the idea that the charge of conflict of interests is not justified, but the participation in forgery and money laundering in relation to Dan Sova in the Rovinari - Turceni business seems to be thoroughly documented by the prosecutors and only a judge can make a final decision, whatever media efforts would be made to clear Ponta in advance from the thick slime of lies.
The national liar is trying to convince us that if he resigned, he would betray voters. The poor air-monger came to believe and wants to convince the whole world that he was elected by the people. No, dear, you have not been chosen by any people, instead I designated you myself for the position of PM respecting the constitutional principle that an alliance which won the elections by 68% may propose the Prime Minister.
Now, not even the USL alliance which won the elections no longer exists, so you kinda come out of nowhere to the Victoria Palace. Don’t you dare talk about legitimacy when the alliance and the political memorandum which has propelled you is now gone. Meanwhile, you've become the only prosecuted PM in Europe.
To conclude, it was not the people who made you prime minister, but I who have assigned you for this office and the Parliament approved my proposition. Therefore, please, betray me, who have assigned you, by resigning and do not betray the country’s interests by keeping the office.
