Former president Traian Băsescu is nervous about the ALRO case file and has been keen to explain his intervention with these companies.
Basescu said he drafted a memorandum to the Ministry of Industry related to Alro Slatina, in the interest of the national economy.
"The plant could not contract any bauxite nor transport. My intervention was to this effect, to guarantee the energy need. This is what the statement was all about. I did not intervene to amend any law" the former head of state said.
