President  Traian Băsescu argued that he  did not receive any money  from the bribe  his brother got from the Anghel family to help release  Bercea Mondial from jail.  

In a statement made for a TV station, Traian Băsescu argued that he did not even discuss with Mircea Băsescu about the case file. 

In the same message, the president said that he could not warn his brother over his entourage although he did reproach it to him every time. 

The President argued  that not even a penny from the alleged bribe cashed in by his brother  from Bercea Mondial,  got to him. Moreover, Traian Băsescu claimed that he and his brother  never talked about  the case. The statement is contradictory to what Mircea Băsescu said during the recordings.
