Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation represent at this moment, for our region and thus for Romania, the biggest security risk after 1989, Prime Minister Victor Ponta stated at the Meeting Point show on Antena 3.
"I think our legitimate interests relate first to the Republic of Moldova which should go ahead on the route to European integration - you know that Mr. Iohannis wants to integrate us in Europe, no, it's about the Republic of Moldova - where our interests clearly collide because we support Moldova to go to the EU and the Russian Federation wants to stop them, " the Prime Minister said.
Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation represent a risk to the strategic choices of our neighboring countries, which are most important for us, Victor Ponta added.
The main weapon of the Russian Federation and of Mr. Putin against Romania is the energy, which is why, if Romania wants to be strong, must become energy independent, added the Premier.
