Victor Ponta, was invited on the Tuesday edition of the Daily Summary show and thanked all Romanians who voted for him in the first round of the presidential elections and said he wants to become president of all Romanians. The prime minister said that, now, Romanians knew clearly which the two perspectives were. Victor Ponta spoke about the rebirth of USL.

Today, after the first round, the waters parted and cleared. Mr. Tăriceanu has obtained the third place for sure; it is the largest number of votes ever taken by an independent candidate.
On the one hand we have those who formed the USL with the idea to change Băsescu’s regime, to provide justice to the people who suffered, on the other hand, those who were part of Traian Basescu’s team regrouped around Mr. Iohannis.
Now people know very clearly which are the two perspectives.
What we have done today is a USL 2, which has the legitimacy given by 2012 vote, it has got a government program that I respected and has the opportunity to have some people working for Romania.
We can have stability and cooperation. Me and Mr. Tariceanu have experience in resisting in the battle against Traian Basescu.
These arguments make it clear today what Romanians vote for
I want to thank all who have the power to believe in this huge change and I believe that it will happen in just 12 days. I am convinced that many will come and vote.
My decisions today showed that I want to be president of all Romanians. I'm not ashamed if a Romanian who voted Vadim Tudor or Kelemen Hunor would vote for me.
I was greatly encouraged by three former prime ministers: Mr. Nastase, Mr. Tariceanu and Mr. Isărescu. I’ve had this kind of relationship that of a younger man who learns from Mr. Tariceanu, as I’ve learned from Mr. Nastase or Mr. Isărescu.
I believe the evil of the last 10 year can be amended.
I want to be a legitimate president, who is backed by the vote allowing him to say that "this is the path chosen by the Romanians".
I trust that Mr. Tariceanu will do what’s best for the Government.
A prime minister makes every day 10-15 decisions concerning the life of Romanians. If I say that all are good, I would not tell the truth. Surely you make mistakes. It is essential to accept when you are wrong and have the power to learn from the mistakes. Sure there are things I would do differently.
I’m hoping that Mr. Iohannis will come to the next week shows out of respect for the journalists, for the viewers. It is the first opportunity to hear the views of Mr. Iohannis.
What happened on Sunday abroad is unacceptable, it is a malfunction. We will make available all the MFA resources, so that everything should be all right.
I believe that on November 16 Romania will choose its future well, it will not have bad luck.
