Prime Minister Victor Ponta said before the Chamber of Deputies plenum, that Romania had a healthy economic growth, but faces three challenges: populism, a likely internal political instability and regional tensions.
In his speech, Victor Ponta presented a paper depicting data on the evolution of the economy, but also a chapter on "Threats to Romania's development", in which the trap of populism is referred to as well as doubling child benefits.
"We are having a healthy growth, we are ready for the Euro, we are the first major government transferring wealth to those with low incomes, but we must pay attention to the trap of populism! We will increase allocations, because I found money (we found the money we, the Liberals have not given us any solutions), but we must pay attention to other risky situations! We will not accept structural measures without a calculation of their budgetary impact, " the document reads.
