The PNL and PDL will not only lose leadership positions, but will lose the money received from the state for political parties as a result of the merger.
All Liberals who occupy positions in the decentralized institutions will be Monday, dismissed, according to the decision of the Executive Committee of the PSD. PNL will lose more than 1,500 jobs, the only thing that kept the Liberals in the territory motivated, because they received state money.
Following the merger, the two parties will receive less money from the subsidy for political parties. Instead of receiving money for two parties they will receive only one. For example, in May 2014, the Liberal Party received 152 000 lei and PDL received less than 100 000 lei. Following the merger they will receive around 100 000 lei per month.
A great loss will be felt by those who have leadership positions in both parties. The Liberal National Party has 78 members in the National Permanent Bureau and the Liberal Democratic Party has 50 members. Following the merger more than half of them will be forced to quit the party functions. The same will happen at the local and county level, where the two party organizations will become one.
And because there will be less, PNL and PDL must give up their headquarters, that's because they cannot cover two offices in each branch.
