Romania’s President Traian Băsescu has become active today on Twitter, in a desperate act of gathering support from the social media as he faces suspension.
At a closer look, the President’s Twitter account manager is following for the moment the tweets of up to 20 persons or media institutes, most of them favorable to his policies.
”Among these persons there are the Democrat Party’s colonel Robert Turcescu, the former TV presenter Andrei Gheorghe, the president-friendly website Hotnews, the former journalist Petrişor Obae, and some bloggers that adore him”, notes Jurnalul Naţional newspaper.
Surprisingly, at the bottom of the list you can also find CNN, to which Antena 3 is affiliated. It also may come as a surprise the fact that Traian Băsescu is not following his own daughter’s tweets, those of Elena Băsescu.
