The head of the Romanian Orthodox Church got a nice present from the head of the government on Saint Nicholas day: Holy construction sites might be financed with state budget money next year too! And priests will get higher salaries! Dacian Cioloş made this confession by phone to the Patriarch after the latter called for the state to return all the confiscated Church assets. All the funds for building places of worship had been slashed the other day, in a first draft budget for next year. The decision had a direct impact on Romania's greatest spiritual and real estate project - the Cathedral of National Redemption.
