The founding president of PC, Dan Voiculescu, announced Monday that he will initiate  a lawsuit against Macovei for defamation of  Romania and undermining the national economy.

The action comes  after the  former Justice Minister said before the  European Parliament’s plenary session that during the referendum in Romania 1-2 million votes were stolen.

"It is a lawsuit  that will be initiated  these days anyway, against Ms Macovei for defaming and undermining Romania's economy," Dan Voiculescu said Monday. 

Several NGOs will initiate legal action  against Macovei, but so far there is no confirmation that the action has started  , Dan Voiculescu said.  

Such a lawsuit  might be a first in Romania.
