The December 1st military parade was the climactic moment of the National Day celebrations yesterday. Everyone watching it, in front of TV sets or in the Constitution Square downtown Bucharest, agreed it was a grandiose show! More than 26 hundred military marched in parade formation before a colossal building - the Palace of Parliament, under the eyes of at least 10 thousand Romanians! Children climbed on their parents' shoulders to get a better look. They were all waving tricolour flags and shouting for joy: Happy Birthday Romania!
