"The agriculture remains in 2014 too, one of the growth engines for Romania, so we are registering a trade surplus just as we did in 2013. Politically, agriculture and energy have been and will remain the two steady growth engines for Romania because we have a huge potential", Ponta said on the public TV channel.
"We have tried and offered support for the money to get here on time, because there is one thing for the farmers to get their money in January, when the European Union gives, and there is another if they receive it now, in October, from the state budget, and we will recover it in January. If Romanian agriculture continues to grow, if Romanian energy continues to provide cheap and safe energy, then, on these two engines, all others will work well too ", the Prime Minister added, according to Agerpres.
Victor Ponta also stated that he is a great supporter of the Romanian bio agricultural production, but he pointed out the problems producers are faced with.
"I'm a big supporter of the Romanian production of bio agriculture. The big problem is that we have greatly increased the quality production, we export in bulk, but in Austria, in Germany, the goods are wrapped and labeled "made in Germany", "Made in Austria '," he explained.
"This means that we must increase all support projects for those who develop not only the production but also the processing, but the state will not be in charge of the processing part, the private producers will do that too, with support from us", Victor Ponta also said.
